| The Gerber Silver Trident is the perfect knife for the collector and the fighter. The fact that is has a double-edged blade with the looks of a regular spear point makes it particularly attractive for the owner - it is an understatement of sorts. The finish is superb. Knowing this knife is made in the USA and NOT in China restores trust in the quality of this product. The feel of the handle is such that you don't want to put it away again... it feels real good (to the enthusiast that is :-). Weight, balance and texture are all perfect. The sheath seems to be specifically designed for this knife (not your run-of-the-mill one shape fits all type). The price reflects the quality and design... I guess. I am happy! |

| This knife and its sheath are both amazing! the sheath is fit perectly for the knife and it has and extra pouch for a small survival kit or im my case,a magnum push dagger. This is an outstanding knife, the top and bottom blade are both sharp enough to shave. If my life were to depend on any knife, this would be it. Also, this is made of ats-34 steel, for those of you who dont know what it is, it holds its edge longer than any other steal and is the most expensive, high quality steel. |

not suitable as a survial knife

It can be a good fighting knife due to the double edge and the nice handle but I will not use it as my survial or all-rounded knife, since you can not split woods by hammering the back of the blade (like you can do with Kabar single blade knifes). also the pouch on the sheath is too loose because the velco is too long, causing small belongings come out to get lost.
I returned mine, and purchased Kabar extream fighting knife which serves my needs much better. |
